when the Rangelink RSSI gets down to below 50% is that the point where you really want to return or is it relatively safe to fly further with numbers that low or lower?

You won't start to lose any packets until it's down under about 30%, and may still retain control
down to 20-25%. Just have to be careful with system like this, because if you're cruising at
35% and bank the plane hard RSSI may drop quickly. If you can eliminate or distance
the UHF Rx antenna for sources of noise, you should be able to bring the RSSI back up
for any practical range you can fly.

Hero2 shouldn't be affecting your UHF system that much, unless it's right on top of
the UHF Rx or its antenna. I've done micro power tests with mine on my tricopter (everything is very
close there, and see very little difference in range with Hero2 on, or off. Hero HD by comparison
is pretty brutal.

Hi Guy's

Is anyone using one of these Video receivers with Rangelink?
Can you sit next to the VRX with your rangelink operating without issue?

Cheers!

That's probably the best one to use in close proximity to a UHF transmitter. 1280 seems to have the highest noise floor, so choose another channel if possible. As always, separation is your friend, but if you're going to sit right next to it, that's the one to get.

Thanks Pat!

I tried it with a friends 1.2 GHz Lawmate (with the Saw filter Mod) and we could touch antennas with no effect, so I was going to get the same but I have heard from a supplier that the Lawmate QC has been really bad lately.
They recommended the one in the link.
I'll get a couple and give it a go!

Cheers!

So I was wanting to put my RX in my Skywalker and add a extention to it so i can place the antenna on the tail. But by adding a extention of about 12" or 15" will the length of the extention have any affect on the Rangelink?
