So there is no way to assign it without putting the custom firmware on it? :<

No, I don't believe you can remap the channel assignments on the stock firmware. You should still be able to use the 3-way switch though. Just find out what channel it's on and assign that as your control switch in your OSD.

Gah. I'll see if I can do anything about it. I hooked a servo up to each channel and moved that 3 way switch. Servo didn't move though. I'll see if I can maybe mix it somehow. It's not relevant to dragon link so I'll just take this to the rvosd thread.

So i got my reciever replaced. It came this friday. IT WORKED YAY, it wasn't me that was doing something wrong. I did range check with the transmiton cap on the uhf transmitter. I got 100 feet or range with the antenna connected to the reciever and the transmiter with the small cap on it.

Hey guys,
Firstly, am the happy recipient of a DL system. Hooray! Secondly, my question. Tags: (for people that search) fly from inside car, extension, fly from inside house, extend antenna I am going on FPV roadtrip, and I would like to fly from inside my car. I know you can fly from inside, and quite far, but I would much rather use some sort of extension, preferabbly between my tx and the dl box, so I can have the transmitter thing outside. On a very high, extendable pole. I did a search on the old thread, there were a few people who had a similar question to mine, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer. It seems I can either: 1) Put an extension on the antenna itself ... http://www.radiogearpro.com/main/pro...roducts_id=135 ... but apparantly this solution needs 'tuning' ... Perhaps this, actually alreday tuned 435mhz: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-055-Antenn...item3a6aca2132 with a simple extension cable might work? or 2) Put an extension between the Tx and the Dragon (muchly preferred). Originally Posted by Pepelatz View Post Don't run antenna coax outside, instead put your DL Tx module outside and run PPM from your radio to DL Tx. 100-200' long run for PPM signal shoul be no problem. - Ro QUOTE - Ok...well how about extending the wires from the DL case and placing the black DL housing with stock ant out side?? That seems better than trying to send a signal down a long coax to me any how, then no need for a remote ant?... - Ho-Jazz - QUOTE That works as well. Except won't be be able to press failsafe - Sawman ================================================== ================= Hmmmm! I am going for the second solution I think. I hope 10m will be fine. I have an extendable pole on my truck, I can strap the black case to that, plug in an extension cable (just looks like servo wire to me) ... I'm not worried about failsafe, failsafe is simply used at the start of installation, I believe, not being used regularly during flight. Again, it looks like regular servo sized wire ... Hmmmm! If anyone has any advice on this, please let me know! Thanks guys, Strudel |

Wondering if it would be easier to get this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-055-Antenn...item3a6aca2132 Or, maybe the link below ... (I live in Sydney, Australia ... so ebay is always easier.) Can anyone give advice if the link above sounds like a good product? I have no ideas about antennas, so not sure if relevant.... Then I just plug in an extension cable to connect the antenna. With the link below, I am worried that it is not tuned to 435mhz ... I don't know how to tune one :-( Quote - Jettpilot http://www.rfparts.com/diamond/nr770hnmo.html You will have to buy the magnetic base for this antenna seperate, it does not come with a base. The Dragon Link is so good, you could probably use a cheap ebay antenna very successfully if you are on a budget. Unless you are going to fly 25 KM, you could probably stick a wire into the antenna of the transmitter and fly quite a long ways As far as the dead spot on top of the van you will probably never even notice... Just something to be aware of that could possibly happen if flying with no external antenna. Again the Dragon Link is so good, I never had a problem even when directly above. -- Mike |
