sailplane nut
Hello again from RCbobcat55@yahoo.com. For a low priced motor try HobbyKing.com. I purchase a lot of items from them for my DLG which I kit (look under sailplanes/hand launch/Dyne-O-Mite) and they have a wide selection of motors. I recently got one from them which has specs very close to an Axi outrunner and it was less than $30.00. It will be used in a new kit I am about ready to release- a 6 ft span old timer electric replica and this motor really has the guts.but isn't a current hog. thanks for the info on the Mini Viper Bob M.

After watching this thread for awhile I took the plunge and built on of these. Finished last night and maidened today. Awesome little plane. 4 flights today.

Hacker A10-12S
2s 360 or a 2s 800 (Have to add 1/2 oz of weight to get it to balance with the smaller pack)
2- HK 2.7g servos
1- HS-55 servo
Turnigy 6 amp esc
APC 4.1 x 4.1
Spektrum AR 400 rx
Total weight: 145 grams

Love this plane. Nice easy under hand launches. Now to build one with a 3s setup!

thank you!

isn't a hs55 servo not to big for this size of planes? you can use an 5gr servo to without having any problems...

I am sure you can use a 5g servo. I just used what I had laying around.

I built one of these set the CG to 40mm hacker outrunner etc.The first flight was on a very windy day , I wasn't even going to fly it was so windy but I had 4 sucessful flights that day. I couldent understand why people were having problems when launching. The next day was flat calm and I couldent wait to fly it again but after launching it did the death roll and slammed nose first into the ground!!! couldent get it to fly at all that day. Also the ailerons became very sensative anyone any idea why that would be?Does the motor cure the roll to the left on take off?

no probably you need to throw harder and launch higher.

when the viper get speed there arent troubles anymore

maybe try bungee (not the one you get but a bigger one)

Thanks had a few more successful flights and a load more crashes. Ordered a new airframe I might try my Medusa Inrunner in that with three cells and GWS 3x2 prop. What size / length bungee are u using?

No bungee just throw in an angle of 45 degree with full power and it should spin one time and get speed and fly
