For Sale-everything over 250 g
Hey Dave, is this any different than the 20mm shrouds I ordered a couple hours ago? The pic changed but they seem to be the same.

Hi Mike, wow! you must have been in the shop just after I added it! It's the same model, yes.

I added that new picture about 15 minutes later to show front, back and side, in the 3 available colors.

UM Button Retracts!

Here's my latest 3D model. A UM Button Retract set!

These Button Retracts measure a tiny 3.2mm high by 14mm in diameter!

They are fully functional out of the printer so no assembly is required. Simply insert your LG, insert your pushrod and tighten. These will be ideal for any of the UM micro's out there or your own UM model that is screaming for retracts.

I will make these available if no changes are required and they work as expected. At ~8 dollars per matching pair, they should be affordable for most.

NC,

That's amazing. I'll have to think of a good home for them. Keeping cranking out the gear. The big dogs may come knocking on your door soon.

Just wondering about the retracts - wouldn't most micro jets need 3 of them for tricycle style landing gear?

Nitro, you going to post here when they are ready to order for those of us who have proper small aeroplanes with a propeller and two wheels at the front?

Thanks

Of course John. I have a few UM's to test the pair on here myself.

Slaanesh, it's a simple matter of uploading a new file with 3 button retracts in it to make a tricycle set.

How do you plan on actuating these?

YOU Da MAN!!!......Put me down for a couple of trike sets and a couple of pairs...Do you think that an UM linear servo has enough grunt and throw or will we need a 2g + regular servo???....For a trike set we would pretty much be limited to a conventional servo, using a servo wheel to connect all three retract actuation rods...

Kevin, that's where the testing part comes into it.
A linear servo should be able to do both but I will also be testing with a HK 1.7g orange servo. There should be minimum force as these are really small and the LG will be really light.

V_I, you move the pushrod in and out and the LG goes up and down....

Are these "printed" with working mechanisms? I can't see how the printer can do that?
I realized that they are printed in layers but I would have thought working mechanisms would be rather tricky?

Or is some assembly required?

As for servos, a linear servo wouldn't be ideal as you generally need control rod movement in opposite directions simulaneously (best provided by a rotational servo).
