having good running performance with my recent 1/350 Typhoon, I was hooked up my the mini subs...

Here we go for another even smaller kit, about half the width of the Typhoon...

Your skills sir never ceases to amaze me. Can't wait to see it in the water.
BTW, May I ask who's model kit are you using and where did you get it in Hongkong?

frist water trail today... waterproofing is good so as the surface sailing. However, submerged running performance is not as good as expected.. still pending for further fine tunning..

Good job sir! Looks great. Smooth diving and surfacing. No torque roll.

unlike my other subs, there was some oscillating tendency in pitch control which suggests that the CoG and CoB are not well aligned. Some adjustment made and looking for another water trial...

no worry, no sub could be balanced in just two or three goes...

as for the detail of the components, I will wait until I have completed all the balancing and taking them out for the hull painting and take more close up photos...

Is this a Special Navy or Alanger kit? Where did you get it and how much?

an Alanger kit, I was told that the manufacturer has been closed. The kit is some sort of left overs, without box nor manual... asking only for US$12.. the same source as the Typhoon...

Lucky you...

I knew should have bought that storm damaged 1/144 Trumpeter Gato in our LHS when I had the chance. They were selling if for $20 ( no box or instruction sheet either). Would have made a great conversion too.

Nice subtle weathering.

Have you tweaked out the problems with the handling already?
