The epoxy cured nicely over night.
In the sunlight it is already quiet stunning. Next would be to give it a nice finish sanding and than do the polishing thing. But I still have quiet a bit of building to do in the hull and on and around the hull. So I will leave that till all is done |

Since I had to change the water in the duck pond I used the fresh water to get her belly wet.

While doing some more research for the sails, I have to start thinking on how to bult the Mast, Beam and Gaffel.
The Mast is kinde a rather long piece of wood and I have been thinking of doing a laminate. Never done anything like that. What kinde wood should I take and has anybody built a mast, around 8 feet and what advice, what defenetly not to do. |

It should be fairly easy to find a nice staight grained length of Stika Spruce at your local timber yard. My choice with the Waveney was Cedar simply because the grain pattern was much tighter and looked like a knot free length of Stika.
Print off a couple of photos of your beautiful build and head off down to the local wood merchant. I am fairly sure he or she will have something suitable, probably as an offcut. My "local" timber merchant is 80 miles away, but it is well worth a day out when I want something special. I have attached the Octogons I was going to use on the Waveney mast, if you scale them up on a photo editor to suit your boat and paste them onto the mast blank it is a much easier way of marking up the mast for planing. If you don't have Illustrator (or similar) let me know the Diameters of the sections of your mast I will run off a bespoke set for you. |

The Rig is by todays standard rather unusual.
Scale measurements : Mast is 140 cm high Gaffelbeam or Mast is 88 cm The Gaffel attaches to the mast at about 88 cm above deck at a very steep angel to the mast 170 degree, pretty close straight up. Their is no bent in the mast but the gaffel should produce some bend and twist. This pic shows how long and high the gaffel is http://www.google.com/imgres?q=aero+...r:13,s:0,i:113 |

Beautiful
What a jaw dropping job.Love the wood pattern on the deck.It is a true skill to get the wood strips to fit that close together.Did you have to steam bend any of the planking? It sits on the water nicely too.Great pictures.
