Misses is starting to wonder... Asked her if I could expand into the family room, got a firm "no" on that one... lol..!! They do all see very regular action, but have been enjoying the 44' Extra the most these past couple weeks. There is another rack (VFS System) off to the right that you can't see with a couple original 32" Slicks, a Vector and Crazy 88....

Do you prefer the 44" extra over the 48" sbach? are flight characteristics the same?

crack video

hey guys, filmed my son flying this week and thought i'd post it. i'm still working on trying to keep the plane in focus when he is flying so this is fuzzy at times. i found a new focusing mode on the camera so maybe i'll get a better video next time. this plane has been a lot of fun. i've flown it a few times now and it out performs anything else i've flown.

JForbes...
Landing gear on the 44" Slick is better for ROG at the Park, so that is usually the one that goes when flying off of grass. Sbach goes when I am flying from a smooth surface or when I hand launch and belly flop with no gear (gear goes on and off really easily). Sbach is a little more precise and maybe a little better pitch authority. Sbach is slower in the Harrier as well. Slick is slightly quicker on the sticks, and probably slightly more durable. Both are very predictable and comfortable to fly. It would be a hard choice if I could only have one or the other...

HOLY FREAKING COW! How old is your son?? How long has he been flying? I'm jealous and envious of his flying... and so calm and cool about it. I guess for young hands and nerves, it's just another flight. lol.... Amazing flying!

me and him started rc a couple of years ago. he's nine years old. he can fly circles around me... literally... it's just not fair how these little kids pick stuff up so much faster than the grown ups! he would probably be even better if he had one of these expert rc pilots as a dad instead of me but i think he really likes being better than me at something. here is a video from a while back . we love flying foamies together!

That is truly awesome. He is lucky to have a dad that likes to get involved with hobbies with him. Well done on your part, and great flying all around!

Wish I could get either one of mine interested in flying. They were way excited at first then found out its a little harder than dad makes it look and lost interest.

Yeah, my daughter picked it up pretty quickly too. I suspect a lot has to do with because she wasn't afraid to crash like I am. I know the pain of purchase.

more camera testing

shot more video tonight. if anyone has any tips on shooting video with the cannon eos t3i then let me know. this camera is made for shooting still shots but it has a pretty complex video menu. so many options that i'm clueless. i'm getting closer to a good setting for filming planes. this video has one flight shot with a new mode that pretty much keeps things in focus but every now and then you can tap the shutter button(once you enable the feature) and adjust exposure and focus on the fly but if you over use the button it ends the file and you have to start a new video file.
