I was just happy to bring my CY home this morning with only a tiny crack near the LG. That is some awesome flying. Looks more like a dance or gymnastic routine. Beautiful. My Crack Pitts will be here tomorrow. Hopefully flying by the weekend. Weather permitting. I got in some windy flying practice today.

Cody,

Do you have advice on whether to fly the bipe naked or with landing gear?

I can think of better things to use as a wind sock

The bipe has huge wing area and will carry the extra weight of the LG very easily. However, hard crashes will be more likely to tear up the bottom of the airplane, and it doesn't work well in grass. I really like it for the looks and the fact that when I am flying off of hard surfaces (gym floor, pavement) if I flop it down upright I can just take off again without going to pick the plane up.

Yeah Wyoming gets some serious wind, almost as bad as North Dakota.

In the 32" Edge 540 manual it says for 3D flight 35-45 degree all surfaces 60-75% expo. Is that between 60-75% expo on the high or low rates? Right now I have my high on 100% no expo and low on 75% no expo. I'm still learning how to use expo.
Thanks.

3fly - try high rates and 50-60% expo to start. You can try lower rates, but you'll go to high rates within a few flights. You won't be able to resist.

I used to fly with 30% expo but recently learned that more expo really helps! And always HIGH rates.

I put 70ish percent expo. This is so I can always fly on high rates without it being twitchy. Id suggest starting out with around 60 percent expo and adjust from there. Less expo more twitchy more expo smooths it out

I have an original Slick and a Hot Blue Edge both set up with lights and have been flying them every Friday and Saturday night for the past 6 weeks. I really enjoy the night flying, most of the time around here, the wind calms down after the sun sets, so it makes for some great fun.
