New Product

New hangar 9 christen eagle

Just saw this on the Horizon website. A 120 size Christen Eagle. This is just the right size, too bad it didn't come along sooner I already have the GP 46 size kit. Might have to buy this one also!!

It might fit but is far too heavy. Would add 20-24 ounces to the airplane by the time you got it balanced.

what gas engine would you recommend? Would a Saito FG20 be a better fit?

The FG20 is also heavier than the 1.25 (5.4 ounces), then you still need an ignition battery. For this model we opted not to recommend a gas powerplant.

The FG20 will fit and the model will fly ok, but not be quite as sprightly due to the extra weight.

ok thanks, I'm kinda having a real struggle with the glow engines... I usually fly electric and I like my models to be clean after flight

I bet it would fly nicely with a DLE 20... only about 4 oz more than a Saito 125 with the ignition.

I'm excited for this plane! I have a Scorpion 4025-12 440 kV & 80A ESC sitting around that may work well for this. Using my collection of 4500mah 4s packs in series for 8s, this thing could be really fun!

Okay, I ran the numbers and the Scorpion I have as spare would not be a great candidate Power 90 it will probably be, unless I find another alternative by the time it's released!

I'm looking forward to this plane! I actually was dreaming about it a few times today while at work. I had to snap myself out of it

I'm liking this one too, and just happen to have an 8s 3800 power system that will work great. It seems small considering I'm running the same size of power system in 70"-ish size airframes. I understand that it's a bipe, but the fuse is the same length of the planes that I run one 4s 3800 in. It just hope it's not a pig with the recommended power system in it. Kind of worried that they just needed the big power system to make it balance. We'll see.

The manual is out now, and battery placement looks a little tricky. Actually looks like they tell you to strap the packs down while the cowling is off for easier access. Maybe I'll try to make some sort of removeable tray that bolts in with a thumbscrew.
