Never fly an A model anything!

Bobbit, I am sure you will find those retracts too deep and the strust too long. You may need to cut wheel wells into the fuse.

You might need to send CS a note to find dimentions of the retract unit depth. J

I am hoping to do something similar, but use these retracts-

A couple of questions:-
Was there enough room for fitting a rail forward of the retracts, or are u relying
on the CF mats ?
Anyone know anything about the retracts I'm proposing, the are for the 90mm BAE Hawk.
HK are not big on providing info.
Bobbitt,

Think these Bae Hawk struts, may be to long, for the Viper, the actual retract mechanism looks the same both are 41x44 mounting plate both depth 28mm, under plates is 25mm if you are ordering a Bae-Hawk suggest use on that.

Rails yes can use one of origionals has 3 layers of ply to screw into,
The other side is single layer ply so will have to pack up for better strength to screw into.

Answer to mine is yes, will screw into origional rail, and then rely on carbon sandwitch to bolt retract to, has 4 on each side and then use 2mm nut & bolt all 4 corners to follow curve of wing, this carbon sheet is only 1mm thick will curve to wing profile quite well, then chanfer leading edge to minimise any drag.

The WidowMaker is still on the bench and NOT For sale

I flew the Viper, and it crashed on the maiden. It was a burnt out elevator servo that brought her down. Tail heavy probley didnt help either

Re-maiden will be very soon
