DJI WK-M - Droidworx Hex Build

Hi everyone.

I'm making the jump today and purchasing a DJI WK-M

I'd like any thoughts about the following build, and where any improvements or cost savings could be made - and any possible suppliers - sometimes Google isnt too helpfull

Frame - Droidworx AD6 (hex)
Camera Gimbal - Photohigher AV130
FC - DJI WK-m
Motors - AXI 2814/22
Props - APC 13 x 6.5
ESC - Turnigy Plush 30a
Battery - unsure yet
RX/TX - JR XG8 - may upgrade to futaba 10 if s.bus is required.

Main use is for AP work, GoPro/ReplayXD/Canon 550d payload with FPV gear.

I'm very tempted to switch to an AD8 frame and make it an Octo, but I want to use a Gimbal.

Consistently Inconsistent
Looks like you are going to order some cool stuff, but I'm not sure why this thread is called a "review" just yet.

Instead of getting futaba 10, get futaba 8fg. It's a newer model, the firmware is upgradeable and it is much more likely to be compatible with the upcoming futaba telemetry system.

I'm going to get something like this myself. But I'm wondering, the AXI motors are very expensive. Is it worth the costs?

I just used esc calc for the first time checking the calculations for my Coptersky 500 build. It looks like 2x3S 2200mAh with 10x3.8 works well with the RCTimer motors and 30A escs. Would some one mind having a look for me?

You got 1.75grams with about 100mins of hovering time.So you need to input the AUW correctly. I would change the default air temperature to whatever maximum temp in my area for the whole year. Also, remember that it has about + 15% of accuracy so it's better to be on safe side of everything.

Thanks, I thought that my AUW was in kG. I will change. At 6500 feet we rarely get above 80.

Just a quick update - ive ordered it all finally.

Ive updated to 40a ESC's, and upon Fajar's advice, gone for a Futaba 8FG.

Motors, Props, WK-M, 8FG have all arrived, Just waiting on the frame, ESC's and Battery

I'll do a comprehensive photo build and will share the details.

Nice quick way to spend 5g lol.
