Massachusetts Man Plotted to Blow Up Pentagon

Just great. This will not help us in any good way. He sure picked a nice time to do it also given that one bill is still in process (last I heard anyways).

One funny thing is he did not seem to know squat about flying as he had multiple pounds of C-4 and was planning to use some F-86 foamy as far as I can tell from the story. No way that sucker was going to get off the ground with anything but a few ounces. Idiot.

the f86 was the hobby lobby foamy fj-3 fury.... a slow anemic edf to begin with.

specs:Wing span: 34 1/2 in
Length: 34 3/4 in
Wing area: 212 1/2 sq in
Weight: 30 oz
Servos: 5x 9g
Receiver: 4+ channel
Battery: 4s 2200mah lipo
Motor: 2600kv brushless
Fan Unit: Stock 80mm
ESC: 45A w/ BEC
Available From: Hobby Lobby
MSRP: $219.99

as for that "f-14 Phantom" or the black f-4 phantom looks like its a nitro ducted fan to me. Either way, isnt it like a 20 mile flight pasth he was planning to have and done without any FPV equipment... kindna hard to fly from the ground over a mile away, much less father.

Yeah, they said something like 6 lbs of C-4 and wanted to have 3 planes? Huh? Dumb overall. If you really wanted to do this and had a clue you would buy a big telemaster as those suckers can truly haul a nice payload and would be easy to fly via fpv comparatively.

Just great. Well, on the bright side, this mastermind did not know much about concepts like wingloading.

Has anyone actually seen a definitive report as to what models this guy actually had?

I've seen all sorts of pictures and they looked like they were just pulled off the web..

.. and almost on-cue..

To date, the FBI has not released photos of the actual RC airplanes, only photos such as below of models that are “similar.” “The public will see these photos and think ‘model” when it is the internal configuration, capabilities, and use of the plane that defines it,” continued Hanson.

Not unexpected, though..
