HK Bonsai Wing

Has anyone tried this wing? The comments on HK's site seemed promising, but I couldn't find anything on RCG about it. My setup will be a 3s 1000mah battery, 15amp esc and a 2400kv motor. This should give it some juice to have fun and yet fly in a tight area.

For the camera I"ll probably use a cheap board cam on pan and either a 100 or 500mw vtx.

thanks

Built mine this week and maiden flight was yesterday, and im very impressed

All built with HK's recommended equipment and flying on a 500mah 2S had no dramas throwing it in the air and I was off, CG worked out quite well and had dual rates programmed as full throws made it a twitchy devil!

Some things to note for anyone else looking to build one, The battery holder bay at the front (Plywood with velcro strap) is prone to falling out (badly glued) so do something about that! (I cable tied it in). And in the instructions it says to just heat shrink the control rods to the angled end pieces... make sure you also use some CA glue because they will pull out at a bad time. Apart from that though, very happy with how it flew! Got around 10 mins from each battery and slow speed was a happy crawl through the sky and full throttle had enough speed for a beginner like me to be happy!

Mine is coming with the stock Motor and a NanoTech 480 2 cell. Will let you know. I love the small planes that fit in the front seat so this is a win if it is all they say.
Has anyone tried the GOOP Glue thing that they mention in the Flighttest report??

I used goop for the leading edge. It works very well and helps a LOT in hard landings

Still waiting on mine, not sure if the recommended motor will do what I want but it's a start I guess.

Someone recommended this motor for a more spirited Bonsai, but I have never seen a flight with one. Probably would require a higher rated esc too.

honestly, the motor i'm using (recommended for 3s) gives it VERY good performance. It climbs like nothing else, and seems to be pushing the plane to its max stable speed. Much faster (dive) and it gets a little sensitive and wiggles..lol
