I found the pink 2" foam board in a 4x8 sheet and it cost $30.00 from the Home Depot.

I bought a couple of different glues to find one that wont eat it up.

I use some random brand of foam safe CA, the thick and gap filling 10-25 second type of CA.

Epoxy,Elmer white glue do fine on foam. No need to glue the whole surface for foam-to-foam gluing and don't glue near the edge that will be Hot wire cutted or sanded.

I think I am going to be sanding the excess foam away so your right in not gluing the edges. Maybe I will get to work on it today some and post some more pictures.

Well it has been 4 months and the boat has been kind of sitting on the shelf while I started working at my new Home Depot here in Tennessee. I have been pushing to get it sheeted and fiberglassed so that my friend could get it painted up. He is starting his own painting business and I am trying to help him out with some r/c clients.

Coming along well now.
I know how you feel. I've had a couple of boats on hold for over a year now & just can't seem to find the time to get stuck into them.
All the best.
Paul.

Boaters are nice people.
Hi Mtrchs,

Nice build!

I'm sure you've thought of it, but make sure the wood inside is sealed with epoxy before the foam goes in the you add the deck.

After all, it is a boat and moisture is going to find it's way inside...

Regards, Jan.

I have never built a boat so no I did not think about putting epoxy inside, maybe I will be able to pop the foam out because it is only tacked in there.

Also I had a question about balance, when and if I need to worry about it. When I pick the boat up by the middle bulk head it is tail heavy. Is that usual?

Epoxy sealing is necessary with glow IC power using high nitro% fuel, for electric you can seal with WB polyurethane varnish which is water proof when cured, cheap and easy water cleaning of your brushes. It also smell almost nothing while using
As for the CG, it will be better set when the boat is complete and motor/esc,hardwarw instaled.
