Any ideas on the rudder length? I just received the stinger that I ordered and I also received the motor mount from hobby king. More pictures to come.

Motor Mount

Here is the new motor mount just sitting inside the hull. It does not fit any suggestions other then cutting the rails to make it fit? Also how far back should it be?

Right now I have more questions then answers. What is the differences between the leopard motor 4082 1500kv, 1600kv, and the 2000kv? The motors are almost 40mm wide and the motor mount I have is only 35mm wide but it is the one that is in all the photos of other boats.

I need some help.
Thanks

For the 4082 you need this mount. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80600
Chances are the mount you have now is the 540 mount for 36 mm cans.

On the different kv of the motors, you really need to decide how many cells you will be running and amke your decision based on that. I didn't see a 1500 kv 4082 listed http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...o-4082&cat=148
If you are planning to run 6s I'd suggest the 1250 or 1600 kv motor. Try to stay away from the "D" winds as they tend to run hotter and pull more amps.

Just ordered a lot of the parts from hobbyking. The only thing left to order is the motor and the speed controller. Any one used the leopard comparable motor from hobbyking?

I used great stuff to fill in the canopy and shaved it off with a kitchen knife. Then I sheeted the bottom of it over the weekend and now it is ready for sanding.

The new 40mm motor mount came in last week with a bunch of the handware, so the next step is to start adding the hardware to the boat.

I sanded down the canopy today and sanded the top of the hull. Made the wife mad when I blew sawdust all over the floor of the room.

I also drilled and tapped (2) 1/4-20 holes to screw the canopy down in the back. Next I will work on pinning the front of the canopy.

Any comments on what I have been doing?

I have finished installing the pin that will hold the front of the canopy down. It is a strong hold on that canopy and I think it will work quite well. I have questions on the stuffing tube and where the motor mount should be located. Is anyone still watching this build thread?

Me too, carry on.

I'm facing some of the same problems you are, so I'm learning along with you.

Nice work, BTW.

Bill has been kind enough to answer my questions so far, so as I learn I'm progressing.

Thanks Bill
