WE ALL would appreciate working retracts. (at least ones that work with more than 5-10 landings before breaking) Will be happy to wait another 4-6 months for that MINIMUM requirement.

It's heartening to see them work on this. Reassuring, hopeful.

When issues came up on the retracts in Hobby King's 1700mm P-40N, they made a brief apology and then turned their backs to the purchasers with no improvements mentioned, planned, or in sight. A very souring experience and we're still waiting.

Now when these foamies start looking and sounding like the birds in that video, then my friends, the Golden Age of Electric Foam Warbirds will be upon us.

That's because Hobby King aren't the manufacturers, they simply sell other companies planes under licence.

Cool video, but why would they use the grass when the perfect runway is right there? Crazy lol

From 25 years of flying RC....I'm sure the grass was chosen because of the slowing affect. He probly didn't want it to roll so far away and using the grass as "breaks ".

Agreed, and not to mention grass is also much more forgiving for large tailwheel models as if you are landing with a side load of any sort it can be smoothly sorted out vs. pavement and the immediate side loading and ground loops/bounces as a result.

reasons for grass stated +1 , also add potential cross wind that day coming from the right side , so taking off extreme left gives more opportunity to compensate into the wind if needed .
Once the plane lifts off , normal torque can be seen wanting to move the plane to the left however that could also be the direction of the wind that day .
I did not see the field flag
