Yup,
That is the FMS V7 BBD sitting behind.
Andy Chen P-40N in front.
These warbirds are almost irresistible to a fellow like me.
Boy we have come a long way !!

Indeed! Andy Chen...Which manufacturer does he represent? Is that the HK P-40 or LX or another one? Gorgeous. Love the pilot too.

Andy Chen design manufactured and distributed by HobbyKing.
1700 mm wingspan. Weighs 9.5 pound and is an absolute delight to fly!!

LOL, hey Ray, does Dianne know????.
You kept that a secret, so I'm guessing that she doesn't.

Looking forward to seeing that one in the air.

The ailerons on my Corsair had the typical compressed foam hinge line but had a bead of tacky glue on both sides which I assume was for strength and reinforcement. This made for very stiff movement especially on one which had a bit too much. Very simple to re-hinge with CA type hinges. Has this been typical for the Corsair, as my other planes including the 1.7 P47 did not have the glue bead?

Having an EPO hinge on these planes are a BIG FAIL in my opinion. Just a material of time before they just fall off!! NOT HAPPY with that poor engineering decision.

My 1700 mustang has had at least 100 flights and the epo hinges are still doing well. One of the ailerons tore off once, but that was due to my foot meeting it at high speed (major hangar rash incident)

I have great expectations for the Corsair however and hope that I can follow the lead of many of the great modellers on this thread.
Should be lots of fun.

Ray.
Now that looks really, really good.
Please FMS, please make me a 1700mm Hurricane.
With red star winter colours.

I agree that the EPO hinging is a cheap route and would prefer actual hinges but like dambit, I've yet to have any problems at all with them. Not to say I won't, but so far, it's been a non-issue. I would like to see them improve this area however with proper hinging on all control surfaces.

The vertical post on the rudder of my 1.7 P47 had a solid plastic hing which was nice. I was hoping they would do same for all major hinge lines but that is not the case as I found out on Corsair. I have had no hinge issues on others but for this size bird I did not want to loose it to such a quick and simple fix. I am going to do the flaps also as I do not like the stiffness. Will probably do Robert pin type hinge on flaps set at 45*. Will also go back and redo the 1.7 P47. 1400 size birds will remain as is.

Ray that's a great looking P-40N! Is that an ARF that you can buy as is or did you modify/repaint from another version? I did a search on HK but they don't show that scheme for the Andy Chen P-40! Also, the pilot is awesome, who makes that? Thanks!
