New to boats and would like some guidance
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get my first boat and figured I would check with experts and get your thoughts. I've been flying planes for about 10 years now. Some friends and I have started flying off a local pond as well. I though I would like to get a boat to bring with me to pond as well. This will be strictly for buzzing around the pond, no racing or competition. I was looking at the Miss Vegas Deauce that Tower has. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXWFH3**&P=0 Seems like a nice setup. I was reading that you can only turn right with it though. Is that true? So what do you guys think? Good boat, something better suited? I would like to stay around the price range of the Vegas. Thanks for any help!! Dave |

You read almost right. Hydro's like the Deuce do turn better to the right than to the left as they're made to run clockwise ovals. Hard lefts can make them flip if done at high speeds. I'll emphasize "can" but may not. A mono or deep-vee hull is better suited for going left or right better.

Viper,
own a Miss Vegas and enjoy it for some after work ripping around the lake. It is a great starter boat and come with everything you need to get started. The quality is very good for a RTR product. It handles and runs well though I must admit I don't know how it does turning left. Don't think I ever tried it! |
