West Michigan Park Flyers McFoamy XL

West Michigan Park Flyers is now releasing the new McFoamy XL. Very similiar to the 34" McFoamy, this plane has a 39" wingspan, and is 39" long. The McFoamy XL presents itself well in the air along with great flight charactics of the smaller version. It has a full tip to tip carbon wing tube in the main wing and horizontial stab. I used trussing to strengthen the plane, which I reccommend for the best flight performance. There are many different ways to truss a foamy, I used a method similar to the smaller McFoamy. Here are a few pictures of the finished plane, I will post some build pictures and hope to soon get a video up.

A motor that will work great will be the Suppo A2208-17 1100KV or equivalent , I believe the suppo is what WMParkflyers is selling for the McFoamy XL.

The wood servo trays do a great job holding the servos still as compared to mounting them in foam where they can "wiggle" slightly. On the smaller planes I don't think it would make a difference, but on a epp foamy this size I would say it adds crispness for quick snaps, flips, and turns along with better precision characteristics.

Thanks Greg ! You make a killer kit at a great price (painted too) - pre hinged , laser cut , spars already installed & super customer service "With no attitude"! That goes a long way in my book.... Count me in for purchase of your new XL & anyone reading take note this is a killer 3D indoor/out. God bless

I'd think a plane this size is probably gonna weigh in around 15 oz. Seems like the 2212-13 motor would be a better fit for this size.BTW, looks VERY nice! Good job. I really like the 40 in sized foamies.

Mine weighed 12.5oz AUW, and I am sure there are a range of motors that would work great.
I also agree with you that WMParksflyers did a good job again, the plane looks really good.

Genetics101, welcome to RCG, if/when you purchase one, be sure to post pictures/videos of your plane. Also ask away if you have any questions, there are a lot of good guys here with great info on these planes.
