How do you mount your fpv camera without a metal box?

I already have a small FPV camera, but its not a "shield" or a metal box around it, so I cannot mount it. So what have you done to make a box around it or protect it? I want to mount it to my heli, but its not easy to when it is like this.

It is like this one:

Use screws and nuts through the 4 corners to attach it to a credit card or gift card. Depending on how you're mounting to the plane you may: use velcro on the back of the credit card, or leave the credit card long and bend it at the proper angle to mount on the plane.

for pan only, piece of hard wood hot glued onto a servo case with a hole drilled for the lens to fit through. (Servo flipped so that large control horn screws into ply/hardwood)

from there cam board screwed directly into the hardwood, or squishy 1/2" open cell foam (like what you would wrap a receiver/rx batt with) with a hole for the lens separating the board & cam with a rubber band around it to keep it snug.

this one..

or you can sandwich the cam, cut a square plastic, hole in one of the plastic for the cam/lens, use a spacer between the cam and plastic..

Make a custom camera enclosure using Kydex. It's easy and quick.

What Kydex do you recommend? Is it like a shrink tube?

I'm also curious about Kydex, how do you give it shape exactly and does it turn solid?

Kydex is usually sold as plastic sheets in various thickness. It's hard plastic but is very easy to shape when it's hot. I usually just bend it in simple shapes but more complex designs is possible if you heat it in an oven. Search the forum for kydex and you will find my camera enclosures.

I use a foam ball.

pictures tell the story. I use a larger foam ball for board camera.

I also use shrink wrap and glue it to the mount.
