Quick MSR/MCP-X question...
I have a Trex450 and Logo10-xtended both on a Spektrum DX7 (and a honeybee FP in pieces). I'm good enough to fly them both in slight wind, and hover quite well. I can handle getting them in non-foward ordinations pretty decently last time I flew (over a year ago!) but never got into 3D or even more difficult "normal" flight. I'd like to get some more practice inside and just play around with it inside. My worry is my cats. I can fly the 450 inside (lol) but only if the cats are locked up because of the risk of a serious injury.
So my question is, will the MCP-X have enough mass/headspeed to do damage if I A> accidently hit a biological with it (accidently is key here), or B> A cat decided to try and make dinner out of the MCP-X? I'm considering the MSR just because it looks fun to fly around the house (and its cheaper) but I *love* the handing of the CP choppers *far* better then that old honeybee FP and how wonky it flew. thanks! The mCPX hurts and can cut. I don't fly mine around the cats, or wife's plants.. |

mCPX blades are sharp!
You don't want to hit yourself or someone else with them and definitely not pets. This is what happened to me. Took a chunk of skin off me. Was rushed to the hospital by the Life Flight Helicopter and taken into surgery. Was in rehab for months but OK now. https://static.rcgroups.net/forums/a...CF0521%202.jpg https://static.rcgroups.net/forums/a...CF0524%202.jpg Tom I guess I should say just kidding above. Nothing a band aid and 1-2 weeks couldn't heal. |

My dogs leave the room as soon as I turn on the transmitter, so its never been a problem. Keep the mcpx away from the lamp shades... the rotor cut through the fabric and the wife was not amused. It will also cut skin, mar walls and knock breakable things off of shelves. I plea the 5th or just say the cat did it.

I bought one Saturday and it should be here tomorrow, so I'm excited! I ended up getting out my Logo10 and working on it and testing out all my other stuff including the Trex 450. Well apparently its like riding a bike because I pulled the 450 into a hover in the living room no problem. and btw, the cats want nothing to do with even the little syma coax I have, but the 450 sends them running for cover. I guess their smarter then I gave them credit for. lol
Now I need to post up some questions about this logo 10... (one of which is where to find parts for it. lol) Thanks for the info guys! bp PS, Tom, your joke made me think about proper first aid kits. I keep a full, severe injury kit with me in my car for "just in case" scenarios and the same kit when I go to the rifle range for the same reason. It includes compression bandages, blood-stopper products (quik-clot for example) and other important bits that can keep someone alive while medics are on the way. Not hugely important for a discussion about an MCPx but something like a logo10 size heli could do some serious damage so I think everyone should have a similar kit with them. Only things Im missing are some IV bags and some of those cool military style morphine autoinjectors like you see in the movies. lol |

I bet if a cat went for a mcpX in mid flight, it would only do it once!LOL!!
I haven't hit myself with mine yet, but I aint trying to either.. |
