I find this practice despicable. As you see djyfugi is fling models before ever being released, why would they give him a model before anyone else because he getting something out of the deal. How is that unbiased.
This newest genius cp will be made of poor quality materials and fall apart after a few flights just like almost every other walkera has done in the past.
This endless promotions of cheap products is getting old.

I in fact can say I recieve nothing for my opinions, this helicopter in not
indestructible or genious, and I guarantee you will be spending hunderds of dollars on it after a few flights when it will break and fall apart as all walkeras have done in the past

Sorry I don't read comments about my opinions from the Walkera Crew, but I hope they enjoy themselves writing them.

I can only hope that you find a heli you truly love to fly and have fun with. After all, isn't that what the hobby is about? Thanks.

No need to lie you are not here to uncover anything more just to try an irritate people.

Anyhow no need to spend hundreds on a heli if you fly it correctly. Maybe it would help if you invest in a sim and educate yourself on heli setup and flight then you will not need to blame products an others for your own lacking.

I reported you for a personal offensive attack on a respected member of the forum - Not that Darryl cannot take it, but such attacks may stop him and people like TomZ doing a great service to the community by evaluating new models - I have always found both to be honest in their reviews and if there is a problem they have spotted it and reported it to us.

If they had not been honest - their reviews would have seen to be false and they would of lost credibility and the communities Respect.

Hey Icebaby.

I dont own a walkera but own a MCPX. Currently its being held together by ingenuity. How do you spend hundreds of dollars when parts for micro heli's are soo dang cheap? You must be not be a very good flier and should stick to toy cars, if you are worried about cost.

Its the nature of this hobby that you are going to spend money, and alot of it. If I crash my erevo into a wall or land wrong I know its gonna cost money. Same with helicopters, but ten-fold. When you crash your big heli and get back to us how much it cost to fix.

If you are worried about money this is not for you. Go to toys r us and buy something from their and dont worry about crashing because they are designed for little kids like yourself.

If you cant read this, here is the point of my post: every hobby cost money, some more then others. I know this because I am a photographer, a shooter(hence my name), into r/c, I also do track days, and snow board. Each one cost money to do, and has an initial start up cost. I BET YOU DIDNT KNOW THAT THIS COST MONEY AFTER INITIAL PURCHASE!

Hey Scar, thats cool, Im also into the other hobby you mention that your name references...I was wondering if that was the reference. Anyway I speak about it like this because I don't want any possibility of someone thinking that this is a veiled threat.

I have been following the devo/genius threads closely this week because i am making my decision on which micro/tx combo i am jumping into in a few minutes, At first I took offense to the posts by iceblade, we all know that they are ill informed and the reasoning so flawed as to be a joke. The problem is we real hobbyists, those that take the time to research, experiment, SOLVE PROBLEMS, ect. We like to encourage and inform to better the hobby. realizing that new pilots success can only lead to a more widespread hobby, which leads to better products, policies, and so many other benefits makes it in all our benefits to encourage the positive growth of the hobby. I know it angers us to see someone work so hard to achieve the opposite ends, to discourage, confuse, associate childish antics ect. but in trying to rectify this we have now achieved his aim. The micro section, in a matter of 48 hours of the trouble caused by one bad apple, is full of threads that are certainly not a positive influence on our hobby.

Had today been the day I fist bought a mall copter, crashed in 3 seconds, and was looking to find out how, and if it was worth, repairing, likely the outcome would have been different than the one just under two years ago when I was at just such a cross roads. I would have thought this a hobby for immature, trouble seeking, pains in the ^$#^%
I would not have been as likely to sit for hours reading guys like DK, alwayscrash, livoniabob, and all the other positive contributors who first, though certainly confusing, snared me into this hobby. This hobby is the top of the food chain. It is probably the most complicated, difficult, and time consuming to master. It involves two very unrelated skills at a very high level to be truly successful. Engineering/ mechanics and hand eye minnd discipline to pilot. not everyone can do this....many more who can are not willing to put the time money and effort into it to be successful. Long term the hobbyists who stay are a very special breed of person, that is why I enjoy being here so much.
I propose that from this post on we decide to not let iceblade degrade this bobby even one bit more. I propose that we ignore all posts from him. I was one of the first t jump on him when he spewed childish drivel, but now i realize like all bullies, problem children, trouble makers, misery mongers, jealouse haters, is there inability to get recognition through positive work and contribution that leads them to seek the very same recognition through the only way available.......trouble
I am sure that if he could garner attention through praise for introducing theory, helpful tips, reviews, mods and the like he would. He cant, so lets just feel sorry for that and feel good that we let him be the star for a day (though in a decidedly negative way) and make today his last day of getting his enjoyment at the expense of the rest of us.

Good evening,
I don't know about Walkera products not owning any myself, but on the point I quoted I can answer you (well generally as I don't know if the person you mention is getting helis directly from a brand or just friendly with some retailer that let him buy before official release). This is a common marketing tool : you distribute prototypes (well, more pre-mass prod. units) to some customers to study the reception and find out issues that would bypass regular testing. Internal testing is very limited and will often neglect how dumb regular customers can be (and trust me, we are really, really dumb from a specialist point of view). For instance fried ESC on the NE solo pro first release because nothing was preventing to insert the battery the wrong way.
It is also a way to create anticipation by having real first hand customer experience displayed. In the small world of hobbies where news travel faster than light, it is really worth it. And even if the review is bad, you'll still have the benefit of everyone being aware of your upcoming release at nearly no cost, and you can setup an advertisement to counter the negative inputs of the review.

They really don't need biased customers because it would definitely biase the result they want to gain from doing this.

On a side note, a brand making goods that do not meet any customer need will crumble in a matter of months. There is no exception to that rule.

Very interesting perspective. My reflexes are either mush or spastic. The only things make helis possible for me are 45 years as an engineering tech and clever designs like 120SR. Plus I suppose, Irish stubbornness. That if the machine can fly I'm going to make it fly. How else could I have gotten through HBFP?

But my hands and vision are no longer as articulate as once, so it's not real practical for me to buy things needing constant work on small parts. Certain brands have more a reputation needing that than others. I greatly appreciate my advisors here giving me 'the bad news' before I stumble into it myself.

However, certain brands also have a large following here and large market share internationally, without necessarily meeting my needs. The distinction is best documented objectively, has been the most helpful. It's fairly inconsiderate to metaphorically go to a car club meeting and yell CHEVY IS JUNK even if one genuinely believes it.

Iceblade1A, all you are doing is making this forum a worse place by spamming and trolling it.

No one cares about your opinion. Nobody likes you, everyone thinks you're stupid, you suck at flying helicopters, your spelling and grammar suck, and your logic and arguments make no sense.

You will never win this little war you are waging against Walkera, because you're not actually attacking Walkera, you're just annoying the general public, none of whom will listen to you because you make it clear that you're an idiot who should not be listened to.

Sorry little buddy, that's how it is. You're doing a good job of making everyone hate you, that is all you are accomplishing.

Dejavu. How many times have people come on here and thrown around these accusations about DK and end up making fools of themselves? I believe that the vast majority of members enjoy his reviews and opinions and appreciate his contributions. I haven't ever noticed any dishonesty in his posts and when something isn't working right on a model he says so without sugarcoating it.

Quit the trolling.
