Thanks guys, it's really great to hear such enthusiasm for the project. Progress will be a little slow to begin with, it'll be mostly waiting for resin paint etc to harden and working on the CAD models. Should ramp up a bit more when all the plugs are machined.

OK ,here are some pics of the progress so far, lots of cutting MDF to fairly tight tolerances ,taken a good many hours to do.
Pics are of the tail plug and one of the center panels just sitting together.
Taken a week of thinking about the next step ,just have to do it now.
WOW.... lots of interest, thanks for all the support. If you see us try to do something dum please stop us.

Bingo! Without being all "Patriotic" and stuff, I feel that the sites and wind are here for World Records, just needs the pilot and the plane. What better pilot and plane than Robot Thumbs and a Deepend 3.0? Lot cheaper than getting to Weldon too!

What I really want is to beat my PB on Australian soil. The objective has been to maximise aircraft speed vs windspeed. It has been designed with 500+ in mind but I do wonder when our planes will reach their drag divergence mach numbers, sounds like we're not far off that from what I've read.

Hi sean,

Good luck for your project.

the radius of the nose seems really sharp no? is it not dangerous?

The FAI rule said for example 5mm minimum for 60" glider and 7.5mm for f3f.

Best regards

Nicolas

Won't have to worry about the nose if it hits you @ 400 + mph.
