Dynam AT-6 Texan

Here's a few photos of the New Dynam AT-6 Texan from Nitroplanes.com. I added new national insignias, painted the wheels, landing gear and plastic mounts silver.

UPDATE: I've flown this AT-6 twice and I'm very impressed! The power was much more than I expected using a 3S 40C 2200mAh battery. Truly a great plane at an awesome price.

I only wish they would have an SNJ-4 paint scheme as well.

Tony, you fly ur AT-6 yet? This one looks interesting...Also wondering if you used the RTF tx and rx, or installed your own rx so you could use your radio of choice.

Still "Skybussin"

Hey Burt! Good to hear from you. I'm hoping to fly it this weekend or sooner. I'll post the feedback here and I have the PnP version. I don't trust the RTF radios.

By the way, I'm still flying my AC-47 and White DC-3 (Dynam Skybus). As a matter of fact, I have my third Skybus on the building table now and working on the tail wheel mod. Fun plane!

Tony

Good thing I asked... didn't even see the PNP version on n-planes until you mentioned it. Okay Tony, I'll need a full report after you fly.

Burt,

I have 8 flights on the AT-6 and this thing is a winner! The speed with a 11.1v 40C 2200mAh batt is impressive for a stock foamy. The 30A ESC gets warm, so I will upgrade to a 40A. Other than that, I'm very happy and impressed with this Texan. Takeoffs are painless with no bad tendencies. In the air, she looks the part. Rolls and loops are sweet and the retracts have been flawless.

Tony

I am going to get it as soon they bring out some more paint schemes. I really like the original blue paint scheme from the SNJ-4.

Dynam is not known for releasing multiple paint schemes like Airfield. You'll have to repaint it. I do this from time to time. As a matter of fact, I just ordered a second AT-6 to paint in a different scheme. Good luck!

Hey Tony...
I too am looking to buy one of these, I had the P-51 which flew OK but the retract struts were weak and bent on every landing. I just hope these are a little stiffer?

HBPD-So far, so good on the gear. No issues! I don't own the Dynam P-51 but after watching several videos, it looks like the AT-6 is a better aircraft both in performance and stability. Let me know!

Hi Tony
I got mine just as I left for work. I took a quick look at it.
The light wiring isn't mentioned in the instructions. I'm thinking that they intend you to solder it to the esc / batt connection??
Strange way to do it??? What did you do to yours??
Thanks
Rubio

Rubio,

The lights were so dim when I initially put power to them that I didn't bother connecting them. This is a fun plane!

Thanks Tony
Hooked up the lights the same way on a spare channel. They were so dim it was funny!!! I unhooked them.
I'm all ready with the magnets in the cowl. All need is to pick some weight to add to the nose. I'm a little tail heavy. Did you add any eight to the nose? If so how much??
Thanks
Rubio
Looking to maiden on sat or Sunday!!
I'll report back!!!
Thanks again!!
