You could also use L or T shaped alloy extrusion and silicon it to the sides of the fan, makes a nice isolated mount too, like I do on the alloy housings.

Interesting Mark, Just silicone is enough to hold the extrusion's to the housing? Even for the 127mm big boys? Does it help that much to dampen out vibrations?

I use dow corning MIL3145, its about the highest grade I have found, huge shear strength and so far no returns or issues from the guys running the big fans. It certainly damps the fans better than a solid bonded bracket, but servo grommets are also great, you could use both

Wow Bob you squeezed a Dynamax in there? Correct me if I am wrong as I still have this A4 fuse in glass hanging up in the rafters. Mine was originally one of Bob Violets first DF kits. It was designed around the "Scuzzi?" fan unit with a K&B 7.5 for power. I think Larry Wolf ended up with the rights to both and the fan than became the Turbax. As far as the airframe goes I have herd rumors that the Yellow version ended up being almost the exact same thing.
My buddy built and flew this plane way back when. It was very marginal with the setup but was never the less the FIRST successful ducted fan kit to hit the market. It used a cheater hole that was molded into the bottom of the wing. Later improvements included internal ducting and the elimination of the cheater hole but it still was marginal with the 7.5.
Seeing how much trouble my buddy was having with the kit I never built it. I did look at it a while ago and seen you could squeeze a Dynamax in there but boy was it tight. Bob did you use the cheater hole on yours? Cool stuff. Boy those were the days. What a leap from than till now.

Thank you Robert!
Mine was also set up for a dynamax but with the current technologies a 90mm seems much more appropriate. Look at how much more space there will be with the 90mm.

If you have any interest in removing the existing ducts, Tam makes a nice set of 90mm intake ducts for the Yellow A-4.

Thomas, my Jetfan 90's did not come with inlet rings. I do however, have more Midifan inlet rings, if those would help.

Let me know.

Thomas,
My order of 90mm is delayed so I'm asking Rainer to ship out the inlet rings in a separate shipment ASAP. I hope I might get them in within the next week to 10 days?

Paul,
Do those fit the jetfan shroud?

Mike,
That sounds great! It may be about 10 days before i have time to install everything into the horton anyways, so that may work out just right c
