my guess is u wont see 130 w/ that setup. at~ 800 watts the tractor version may get there but not the edf. could be wrong but thats a 100-110 mph deal in other similar jets. fwiw. 130 is in the big power league.

what say u 901?

have u used the 2w20 and 6904 on more than 4's? seems like a smoke test to me , pretty high kv for 6's

chuck
My ME163 weighs 1700 grams and has retracts so I use a runway to take off. Have not tried the 2w20 on six cells. If the motor can take this what about the fan?

the 6904 is very robust , good into the 1+ kw area no problem. the 2w20 is not, imo.

Maiden! Launch was hairy. The bungee snagged near the end of its pull and it went off at an extreme angle. Fortunately it survived that part then went on to a very good maiden. Good speed, Very stable. Thought it might be squirly but it wasn't. And as I left it all red, thought it also would be hard to tell up from down but that wasn't hard either so..happy!

HET 2W-20, 6904, 4000ma 4s

cheers,
Mike

Problem with the WM400 setup is its power hungry, 108A to get 2.5kg thrust on 6s in their videos, the wemotec with ARC2858-1 pulled 87A to do the exact same sustained thrust, and the ARC will do it continuous, the Velocity motor is rated at burst only.

If you want huge 6s power then the new HET 1W40 in a wemo rotor'd fan is the way to go, it pulls 96A on 6s for just over 2000w, and is spinning the fan 5000rpm faster than the ARC setup!!! I havent had time to bolt one to the thrust stand but 2.8-2.9kg would be the result I think based on the rpm.

The Hoffmann are good heaters, pull lots of amps and dont outperform any of the quality inrunners.

The 2W20 wont run on 6s, not 5s, not in the 6904, this fan is too pitchy. In the wemotec fan the 2W20 will run on 5s but you have to be careful of WOT and limit your use of it.

Best setup for a balance of power and weight on 4s is the one I installed into Munce's Komet, Minifan PRO and 2W18 motor, 800w on 4s3300 packs, 1.5kg thrust and 125mph measured speed in level flight. It weighs 1.2kg and is an easy hand launch.

Shipping is real good these days to US, $27.00 gets you registered airmail up to 500 grams, can send fan and motor no problem in that, likely other small bits too. Aust Post says around 10 days but guys have been reporting 7 days on average.
