Who's bitching? All I'm saying is that "The Gunfighter" rendition is a case of multiple "BTDT."
Which it is. |

Why does FMS have to copy the other manufactures anyway...there are hundreds of WWII P-51 paint schemes why copy what's already been done.... |

Beltpilot was able to get a successful poll going to decide the FMS P-38's livery. Not sure if that option exists for this plane but there is excellent historical proof in these forums that FMS not only highly values their consumers feedback, but actually takes much of those comments and incorporates them into their newest models. Such a refreshing perspective. There's always going to be some who will find some scale flaws or omissions on any new release but FMS is doing such a remarkable job continuing the trend of delivering more and more appealing scale warbirds.
What a fantastic time to be in the hobby! |

Gunfighter is a proven, attractive paint scheme and I'm thinking FMS values that. I'd like to see Old Crow offered as the alternate scheme.
FMS has really impressed me with their models over the last year and I'm expecting great things. What worries me is the size... As others have pointed out, 1700mm pretty much necessitates disassembly/reassembly for all but a small percentage of trucks and school buses. I have neither but I do have a strong lazy streak that was proven with by the awesome 1875mm B-17 that flew great and looked killer - I was simply too lazy to disassemble and reassemble every time I got the itch to fly it, and it got sold pretty quickly because of that. That said I will likely buy it anyway - Looks too awesome not to! |

The only thing I find strange about the gunfighter scheme is that Art Tech has a 1600mm mustang that looks exactly the same. So we have two planes that look really nice but they're practically the same.
So many cool ones that have never been done before. Check out "Bunnie" of the Tuskegee Airmen. |

If I decided to buy the 1700mm P-51 it would not remain in the Gun Fighter" paint scheme for very long... |

Also, keep in mind that the first pictures of FMS's 1400mm zero were of the TAN scheme...and then it ultimately came out in the typical green scheme. So, gunfighter isn't necessarily set in stone I would believe.
(although I WISH they would have come out with the TAN scheme...I was excited for that...) |

LICobra, nice paint jobs...I'm like you. I love painting my planes schemes I like, not necessarily the schemes the manufacturers like. Besides I hate showing up to a flying field with the same plane and paint scheme as everybody else.
Would love a Tuskegee Airmen livery! |
