Thanks,

Aaron its the best thread I've ever been a part of.

BM,

The weight difference between the 2 cockpits is 52g, so it won't have any effect on the cg really. Heck it was less weight than I thought it was going to add. Sweeeet!

Yea, the pilot is a bit heavier than the stock pilot, but this plane doesn't even notice it

Hey Brandon,

Another how to Q. How do you remove just a little of the foam from the surface to make things like the vent cover flush? Dremmel sanding drum? The edges of the foam seem to fray around the areas worked on.

Thanks,

Aaron

Use some 200 grit sand paper and sand it down smooth. Or I use an exacto knife with a 90* , make sure it brand new and it'll give you a clean cut to take that lil surface foam off.

A new blade is certainly important. And maybe a small sanding block. I will try 200 grit.

Thanks v8!

I use a Special Dremmel bit (kind of like a router bit) for that (at High RPMs) and also an exacto with a new blade

Brandon, It must take a deft touch to use that router to remove so little foam! I might give that a try rather than the sanding drum.

Thanks,

Aaron

Yup...gota be real careful on how you hold and manuver the dremmel, but it doesn't have to be absolutely perferct But the high RPM spinning router bit makes a real nice clean cut and recess. trick is... take your time and move slowly and carefully

Thanks Brandon. What material did you use for the vent?

Aaron
