Ok I just powered it up to open the retracts and finish mounting the Vertical. The retracts are the same except no micro switch. They also are much more solid and have no free play from side to side, fore and aft, or and twisting motion on the strut, ....Interesting? but on a visual ...I see no difference from the origional PTZ's? that have been being used.


Currently they seem to be working ok? we'll see how they hold after a few flights and bumpy landings?.....currently running everything!!! all stock.

I highly doubt that the Aluminium spar is not up to the task. Only a crash will bend that thing.

I haven't heard of any one else mentioning one of these? has anybody seen this or has recieved a Mustang with the same set up as this? or am I the first? or at least to mention it here.

B or C version Mod useing a Top-Flite conversion kit


Been kind of quiet in here?.....Here, I'll Spark things up a bit.....

Here is the start....I'll try and post pictures of the step by step for those interested. Looking to be done with it by the end of the weekend.

I will be doing this one a little differently than I did with the "Jug". I'm going to attempt to keep as much weight gain out of the tail area as possible and keep the overall weight gain to minimums.

There is one area that is going to have to be CF reinforced due to cutting the ventral fin off ...and that is where it got real thin at the base of the vertical where the cut ends...(the origional "D" version stock design relys on the ventral fin for strength and reinforcement in this area)

Yes probably?...not sure till I get her in the air, but look back a few pages and notice that this one comes with a different Main joiner spar than the Frankie does....I posted earlier info on this several post back

the retracts are the same as before, but no micro switch on them

Makes me wonder if the Frankie ones have been updated as well.......

Anyone know how fast Banana rotates their stock?

I'll let you know in a week or so? ....I have another Frankie Mustang on the way here now. Should ship out any day now?...I'm hoping to see it before next weekend? along with replacement wings for my other frankie mustang

Working metal anneals the metal and makes it stronger until you work it so much it becomes brittle and breaks. But a single slight bend is not enough to cause this. Perhaps this is the effect you're thinking of? Shot-peaning is an example of added strength through metal working. And, ever bend a rod and try to bend it back in the exact same place? It's difficult and bends everywhere else because the bent portion is actually stronger.
