Hi Andrew

Right now I am covering Oculus # 22 with white in the solid areas and transparent green in the open bay areas so soon you will see the pictures of it.

That is Great Andrew

Take pictures and ask questions as you go so we can see how it's coming along.
The only change I made to Oculus # 22 was to increase the spoiler bays by one because I like to slow it down a bit more because I live at 4900 feet above sea level and planes move a bit faster at this elevation, that is the only deviation that I made from the plans.

Hi Andrew , your Oculus is a sweet plane and your going to be difficult to beat in 2013 Northern Ireland comps.
I am sure Sam and the rest of the boys are watching this thread with interest lol
Good luck my friend with the build and roll on 2013 its going to be interesting

Well, i am the new owner of an Oculus kit. I will start on it Monday. Got the table cleared off and can hardly wait to finish it.
Great thread here and am glad to have help along the way. This will be a nice step up from an art hobby 2.5 evolution!

Here's one tip-

Toss out the rear wing bolt that is smaller than the two front ones. Buy the identical hardware to the front ones, and use that.
No need to save 2 grams of weight 2 inches from the CG and carry another hex key.

I went to 8-32 bolts with standard and philips blade, I can almost find a screwdriver at every event but a hex key is a bit harder.

I added an adjustable tow hook from Isthmus Models.
The adjustment screw uses a 2.5mm hex.
If I would have had my head screwed on straight at the time, I would have bought the metric 4mm screws and t nuts that take the same size 2.5mm hex key, and THAT would have been a good thing!

Well I got some more time today to work on Oculus #22 the covering is basically done it is coming time for the final items in the fuse and get the rudder hinged.

I sure like the green and white it shows up good against the sky.

Very sweet looking and quite a super build. I like the trans green with white. I did my first Windfree decades past like yours, sans no spoilers.

Looks like a qualified Woodie to boot.

Best of at least three worlds.
