Good bye my E-Starter

Yes... she was a good flyer
Yes... she taught me how to fly (really )
Now, she belongs up there...
Not in the sky BUT on the 50' tree top
It was a good day with a good weather. I was having fun but suddenly, that tree just jumped right in front of my plane.

Tomorrow, I will post her current picture (on the tree )

===Missing her already!===

Here is how she look before her maiden.

Such a nice looking airplane. I share your sentiments regarding the E-Starter. Sad to see her go

I'm not so familiar with that park (my 2nd time). The E-starter was on the tree top before, but not as HIGH as this one .

Power Distribution Breaker Pole will bring her down!

If you can get to your nearest Power Company's Distribution office (not customer service), the crews that work at the field ... perhaps they can help with a light weight telescoping pole that extends to 30 feet used for activate (move)distribution breaker switches on top of distribution lines ( < or = 69KV) then you may have a chance to recover the E-STARTER!

I will admitt to you that I also lost my E-STARTER to a very tall pine tree here in Orlando, Florida and she was up exactly 40 feet up. A buddy over at the Space Center (Mark Shimei, a.k.a., MARKED) was kind enough to drive all the way to Orlando and bring my E-STARTER down after 9 hours being stuck in the pine tree. He had to tape and tie a fishing rod at the end of his Electrical Telescoping Power Breaker Pole and that's when I realized it was 40 to 45 feet up since the Pole itself would not reach.

I would kindly ask around either at the local Fire Station or your nearest Power Distribution field office for assistance. Buy them beer and pizza it's still cheaper than all the cost to replace the electronics!

two left feet
I like the paint job. You should definitely try to get it down! It's probably not even significantly damaged.

Many marine stores carry lightweight telescoping aluminum boathooks. I have used mine successfully in freeing a plane captured by a tree. good luck and be safe.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Mine was about 30 ft up and I reached it with 18 foot swimming pool extended handle and two light weith alumimum dusting handles. I think at 50 ft, I would have to cut down the tree.

The second picture actually reminds me of a happy faced kid getting ready to go play.

Good Luck,

Could work. Do you know anybody that can shoot a arrow with any accuracy. Tie a little line on any try to go close (not too close) and over the limb without getting hung up. The see if you could shake it free. If the line isn't strong enough, maybe it could pull something stronger up.

Good Luck,
