Question

105 CM, 42 inch Cat power required?


I'm just making an enquiry at this stage, I may have a line on a 1:10 scale Class ONE offshore cat, the hulls are V not flat like the other cats I've seen.

What motor single and what for twins? Is this classed as Big, Because there could be a bigger one available to me as well.

I'd think something in the same power range as a Neu 1527 or Lep 5692 would work well as a single. For twins maybe 1515's or 4074's. A 2028 would be overkill in a 42" hull.
My friend Scott has a 115 cm HPR cat and with a pair of the Castle 1520's hits high 70's on 6s 1p per motor.

I've been working on the building boards for the two halves and I glued in the top of the tunnel.

Thats a bunch of crap, the 4082 1500 version is rated to 6s spinning more mass. 90% of folks on here would run that on 6s.

The building boards are complete, and some small progress has been made. I've made a start on the hull.

The boards are called torsion boxes, designed to stay flat.

It's also only rated for 55a, sounds like a pretty useless boat motor IMO.

55a on 6s is around 1300 watts, almost 2 hp, and HK is famous for underrating a bit. Dunno, i think they(the 4060's) would be good or step up to 4074's.

The HK rating is 800w because of the 55a and 14.8v limits. I'm not sure I would want to be pushing that motor to 1300w.
