LMAO!! I remember back when folks complained about the price on the PZ brushless Mustang. Pretty sure they'll get over it on this one to.

I think it looks great. Can't wait to see the video.

But we are talking at least twice the price here. I agree it does looks great, but definately not twice a great as my current Q. So who's going to do a VT mod for the Q?

Which motor?

Hi all,

Do you think the motor will be the higher KV version of this one?

Same length, weight, and diameter?

Product Specifications for C-Z Scimitar says:
Motor Size: 32-size 1010Kv Brushless Outrunner (installed)

I do t mind the price so much... I just want to be able to belly land it or it might be a no go for me.

I have 2 of the power 32's and I got to think that the KV is higher on the Scimitar since the recommended setup for my Deuces Wild was a 12x8 or 13x6 is I remember correctly.

This isn't replacing the stryker though. The Stryker will have more speed potential, as it isn't porked up with retracts, TV mounts, Barn doors SFGs and has a slimmer profile.

I imagine this being a very different bird. Dave already said the mission profile doesn't involve any sonic booms, but is focused on maneuverability instead. I've got a hunch she can knife edge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just check the name.

Anyway, after taking a second look at her, she's growing on me. I'm starting to see what they were going for. Note the cockpit: she's a "scale" bird, there just isn't a real scimtar fighter jet out there. One could easily imagine this being an X-plane from the 50's.

I'd be torn between the stock paint scheme (black on red, very sporty!) and going with a military gray USAF marking scheme, playing up the "fighter wing" angle. Part of that is I think the "SFGs" would look better in a military theme. At the end of the day, I think that paint scheme would suit the stryker more.

But as I said, I'll hold out for an airframe only, or move on to a different model. Too many companies out there to spend all my cash on just one. I like to spread the love; HH gets some cash for the airframe, Hitec gets some for servos, castle for ESC's, Hobby city for retracts, and so many options for motors.

Very pretty airplane....very interesting package.

I'm going to wait to see how grass runway bound people deal with this... otherwise, I may be out.

With those looks, it really ought to be really, really fast though. Oh well...

Yes, yes I am.

Just playing with the numbers in a motor calc. On 4s with a 1010 kv motor and a 10x8 prop, it looks like the speed will be around 90 - 100 mph. But a lot of that will be determined by how draggy the airframe is so this is truly a ball park number.

--

I didn't see the 1010 kv motor listed at horizon hobby so I took some numbers from the Power 32 770 kv motor which had .02 for resistance and 2.4 amps for lo. The 1010 kv motor will probably have a slightly lower resistance and slightly higher lo.
