While I'm sort of bummed that the FLI won't be in my hometown of Grapevine, Cape Girardeau was my home before Texas. You know I'll be there.

The field is nice, lots of room on the left and right for long approaches (no trees at the end to hurdle). Having a choice of landing on the paved runway or on the grass is a nice choice too. The field also has more depth available than Grapevine.

As for Cape Girardeau, there are plenty of hotels in town, lots of places to eat both commercial and lots of small town good food down on the river @water street.

Also for those flying in, there is service through AA and I think Delta straight to Cape Girardeau's airport for a small extra fee.

I'll be driving though. I make this drive all the time and it is about 10hrs from Grapevine. 5hrs from the Little Rock area, 3hrs from the Memphis area.

Added to the opening post:

After the demos on Saturday, We'll be calling all Slicks together for the most incredible photos ever taken to commemorate one of, if not THE most awesome RC airframe ever manufactured! We're going to make RC history!

You're gonna want to be there, especially if you consider yourself an "Addict"!

Would it be possible to maybe hitch a ride with you there? I'll cover some gas ... Is camping at the Field allowed?
