Hi Buck 650grams approx without any electrics at all so a dry weight i would say Roberts would be lighter at a Guess. My wings are a lot different to the plan and the feathers i made from ply i just used the plans as a guide and made a few mods to mine you would have to ask Robert about his cheers Brian

With electronics and 1600mAh battery the weight of my vulture amounts 950 grams. The head and tip feathers I made of fiberglass. And yes, I also used more balsa for the wing.

Is there any chance you have pictures of the stages you built your bird?? The three you sent me helps a lot. I wondered what the head looked like up close and what and how you made it. Where did you reinforce the wing with extra balsa?? Thanks again Buck

The wings are not removeable and I use a single servo to control the tip feathers. So on the root of the wing i used extra balsa and also covered the balsa profile ribs with 5mm balsa. I will take pictures later of the fiberglass head and mould.

Buck, any progress of the Bob Hoey's turkey vulture?

I think i will make also EPP wings for this vulture to drop some weight.

In the meantime I am enjoining the flight of my albatross.

Vulture

I just finished the wing. I built it just like yours.I made my feathers out of ply. Just started on the fuse. I was wondering if you had a picture of the way you laidout your ESE, Battery, servos in the fuse? What size is the servo in the wing? It looks quite small. Boy I bit off a chunk with this thing. It isn't a kit. The print has a lot of mistakes in it but I am doing fine. Do you have a picture of the Albatross? It seems to fly very smooth. I like your camera with the rotating head. Those are great pictures.Have a nice Holiday!! BUCK

Buck, here a picture of the fuselage of the vulture. The ESC is in the front part of the fuse. On the black tape in the middle comes the battery. I use a small metal gear wing servo 2,5Ncm.

TOKI2-2 test flight

I improved TOKI and carried out the test flight.
These wings are the split ailerons which I have already succeeded.
