Hi Ming

I think we're mostly pretty sure your 8mm spar will fix the problem, or make it very much less of a problem. The concern is for you, we want your promo video on YouTube to show your Swift looking really good. The two videos you have posted show a lot of wing flex. We're just saying it would be better for Windrider to have a video showing the wing flex is reduced with the 8mm spar.

Unless it isn't?
The last 8mm spar flight no video shoot.
Please wait two more weeks, I will build one after the tooling amended.
Could add the retract and airbrake on next flight video.

Wackyman, the very fact you are posting anything about a Chinese foamy is utterly hilarious.

Keep up the good work Ming.

And what's your problem KK, at least I have a ST Fox foamy which has a spar but the wing still flexes, and I was flying lots of foam 10 or more years ago.

compare to your 7 posts on RCG which most of them were whacky and spam
The only one whacky behaving here here is you.

Best to ignore such

If you have a fox foamy you would know they are also flexy noodles built stock. As with almost all of ming's planes, built stock they are cheap, light and weak but great for beginners, for what they are designed for, they are excellent. What they also are however, is a good base for modification to make a good fast plane that wont break the bank. If you want a 2metre model that will perform in over 5 knots, be prepared to do a lot of beefing up of a foamy or go and get a glass one. You simply cant have both and you would be crazy to expect any different.

you possible right there is a limit what you can expect from a cheap foamy, however some improvements don't require big $$.

DAW had a 3m EPP KA 6 in th late 90's and there wasn't much wingflex

Ming asked for inputs, here is my: Increase the airlerons in size

Yeah fair enough. I think though to make the most of the bigger ailerons the stiffness needs to increase a lot. I guess well see how the 8mm spar goes.
It kinda looked gracefull with the bendy wings, especially funny when they flexed the other way when it went inverted!

FWIW it would be easy enough to give this a Swiss spa treatment: slice 2-3" off the subtrailing edge, then make giant flatplate fullspan flaperons out of 6mm Depron and cover the entire wing in "New Stuff" laminating film. That'd improve rollrate I suspect and if there was still too much wingflex for your taste, you could put another ribbon spar on the subtrailing edge.

Good Times
Theres Flex
and theres over the top bendy ,
Ming knows the wing is wrong to bend like it does , i would expect it to flex a bit , but not like banana . and he has confirmed this by amending the tooling , Job done . 8mm carbon spar and a ribbon spar

should be good , and i await the new video showing the improvements .

Well done Ming

Like all other Windrider project, I will not let them launch to the market until I feel satisfy.
To add the square spar is not so difficult, why not to make this nice glider become perfect.

Hey ming. What is the airfoil? Is it designed to be fast or floaty?
Thanks, josh
