A brushless ESC will not work with a brushed motor, it is a totally different type of ESC. GWS still sells a wide range of brushed ESC's, what amperage ESC were you looking for?

HobbyKing isn't the only retailer in the world, (as many seem to think), who do good prices on cheap gear.

Try doing a search for a brushed ESC at the current you require. There are many local retailers out there still selling modelling stuff at good prices, until they get killed off by the 'I must buy from HobbyKing' mania.

GWS ICS brushed ESC's are fairly inexpensive. Less than $16:

Note: if you are using Lipo's, choose the GWSESC480A:

thanks for the reply i was just thinking because i heard some one talking about Castle Creations SCT Brushless System and that it could handle brushed motors with a simple wiring change so i had some hopes because i have some hobbyking esc's on the way

but anyhore i just found out that the motor i was going to use can only handle 3-4 flights be four it brakes (some crap that is sock in the plane) so maybe it is a better to put some money in a brushless system and save in the long rune. the system is a 370 bruset motor on a gear box so what system is good for a 38" wingspan and a 30" length foam traner (inrunner vs outrunner, prop, gearbox or not what kv) ?

The CC Sidewinder SCT is a Car/Truck motor ESC and can be operated in both brushed/brushless mode. It CANNOT be used for airplane/heli motors.

In the model airplane world, ESC's are either brushed or brushless... not both.

What make/model of pane is it?

Do you know the weight with batteries?

How big of a prop will fit on the plane without touching the ground?

Can you modify the existing motor mount for brushless? Sometime these conversions are very tricky and should only be attempted by experienced modellers.

Hobbyking has a range of brushled esc. If I remember well from 20A and up. Don't have a link but if you list all esc and sort by price that one is sonwewhere at the end.

Here's one. 20A brushed for five bucks.... Cheaper than brushless.

Also, here's a 30A for $7.83.

Plenty of brushed esc here, from 15 to 30 Amps:

But the one TP16 linked are good too if part of a larger order to offset shipping cost!

Don't bid too high on it, its already overpriced as the Tx seems to be rather tatty with a range of 300 meters. If using a gear drive it can fly on that motor (380=Speed-400)

The motor/esc combo from HK is a lot more power:

Here is the OP's plane, made by Lanyu Hobby:

http://www.lanyuhobby.com/viewProduct_en.asp?flowNo=297

IMHO, fly the plane the way it is.

These are fairly inexpensive planes and it's just not worth trying to mod them. Replacement parts are impossible to find, so if something does go wrong your only option is to buy another.

It's unfortunate really. This is why a recommend one of the more mainstream and popular planes like the Hobbyzone Supercub RTF. It's a basic 3 channel trainer, easy to learn on, easy to modify, and all of the parts are replaceable and readily available.

Good luck!
