We had a cardiologist check up on monday. The hole is still very noticeable, but he is doing good. They started him on Lasik meds on monday to help with removing excess fluid from around his lungs. He is still doing good right now, but they informed us we might start seeing heart failure changes pretty soon. Surgery is still in the early/mid November time frame unless he starts going downhill quicker then anticipated. He still gaining weight which is what we need.

Congratulations, and sorry to hear about the defect. I know the feeling. My son was born with an irregular heartbeat which faded around the 9 month mark. Very nerve wrecking for an infant to have regular cardiologist visits. He's almost 3 now and a complete terror!

Thankfully doctors now days can repair most anything god can throw at them. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Glad everything worked out for you.

Right now we are just praying somehow it heals itself without surgery, but November is the deadline for that one. The whole is so large that normally holes that big do not heal on there own. We can tell he seems to be getting short of breath quicker. Sucks just having to watch him start to go downhill.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE:

Monday Camden had open heart surgery to repair his vsd, and he also had a small asd they repaired. After 5 days in the hospital we are home and he is doing great. I can't begin to tell you how nerve racking and heartbreaking it was to see him like that, but he is doing just awesome right now and is starting to slowly get back into to the happy smiling baby he was before. He still has a bicuspit aortic valve that will need monitored each year, but that can be fixed at a later time if need be. Thanks to everyone!

Annoying people since 1970 :)
Good to hear the op went well. It's very tough to look at your own child in trouble and not be able to do much but hopefully things are on the up for you all now.
In a few years he'll have you in a headlock, begging for mercy and you'll never believe how he once was
