Is there some advantage of the pull/pull system over the straight wire with Z bends?

Lighter weight which is key for the ultimate floaty 3d feel. The RCF epp planes have always been known for being one of the lighest in design.

I have broken plenty of nylon gears on my rudder servos with a carbon/wire pushrod. Havent broken one gear with pull/pull and I have over 800 flights on my yak.

You won't be sorry. Everything goes together tightly and square. I finished mine a week ago and I have about 25 flights on it and it is a great 3D plane. Next to my Twisted Hobbies Slick (300+ flights!) this is my favorite 3D plane. If it is set up right it will be very responsive and fun to fly. I haven't crashed it yet but it looks like it will be tougher than nails. I would suggest that you not glue the cowl on "completely". I had to get to my motor to adjust the thrust line some to meet my personal preferences. Just tack the contact points at the rear of the cowl where it meets the main fuselage with hot melt glue or welders. I also tacked the front of the cowl in 4 places where the wood meets the cowl.

Kris I would use different servos. Don't think the hxts will last long with the plastic gears.

Kris I havent flown it yet so i can't give u a fair comparison. Sorry. Here is one of the best flying it.
RC Factory USA - Twisted Hobbys RS-352 / Sbach flown by Daniel Dominguez (6 min 35 sec)

You could go to daniel's thread on this plane and ask about the flying characteristics. As for this plane, very stable in harriers and hovers. Also does really nice ke spins and ke. Its perfect for learning these maneuvers.
