Yes.. You just need to plug into your extension..

If you have trouble opening the hp22, right click on the desktop icon, and run as administrator.

Very easy to do..

Not sure about the other programmers, but I use the HPF-25, and when you turn it on, it's got a reset feature. It sets the deadbands at 1, which is as low as you can do it manually anyway. Any more I rest the thye servo, and then check the deadbands, which should then be at 1. Half of the stuff on that thing I don't understand, which is why I just use the reset feature!

It made a really big difference in the centering. Before the plane would just never stay trimmed out, but once I set the deadbands it locked right in. There are a lot of other cool features on the servo programmer. I just have to sit down with the instructions and some servos and figure it out.

Close call today, had a lipo go south 30 seconds in to flight. Thankfully I was high enough to bring it down safely. Pack showed fine with 89% left in pack. Just pooped out and it is fairly new. Bought in February with maybe 30 cycles on it.
Happy New Year

Sounds like a dropped cell.

Run like hell for a year and then die. Seen that before.

The weather here in the NW finally let me get out to maiden the EF 60" extra I picked up a couple weeks ago and man was it fun, froze my hands off, but it was worth it. This is my 1st aerobatic plane and I don't want to fly anything else now. I'm really excited to get more flights on it.

Thanks to all who helped with my questions when buying a used plane.

You really cant go wrong with any EF airframe, the ones I (and my friends) have flown fly extremely well. Its worth paying a little extra more for a top quality airframe!

I just bought one of these rtf. Waiting on some good weather and I think I need to get some better batteries.

The batteries I got with it are 20C Zippys, 6s3000, the plane has never been flown and I'm assuming these batteries aren't worthy?
What are you guys running for batteries? I've had good luck with 25C Gens Ace batteries on my MXS and Slick, but seems like they're always out of stock.

Glad I found this thread as I never even thought about the deadband on these little serovs, my MXS is always changing center, hopefully resetting the deadband will fix it.

I've had great luck with Glacier lipos from EPbuddy and Haiyin lipos as well. I'd go with at least 3300 25c(i like 6s 3600s)

http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=366

http://www.haiyinstore.com/compares.asp?PID=216+

The haiyin packs only have a 2c charge rate though while the Glaciers have a 5c charge rate.

Fly them and see. They will probably give reasonable enough power.

3000 might be a little light on the run time, so I suggest setting your timer for four minutes the first flight, then check your voltage after every flight.

Most guys are running 6s 3300 to 6s 3600 or so. 30-45C seems to be the most popular.

I'm running Thunder Power 6s 3850 65 packs.

Once you set them, the difference will be staggering. I'de be interested in hearing what yours were set at.

One of the things I found out about my programmer is that if you just hit "reset programming" it automatically sets the dead bands at 1, which I suppose mkust be the deffault.

Something else, I had a minor crash with my first MXS and suddenly the servos in the tail wouldn't center properly, and the rudder was actually jamming when taxi-ing back from a flight. Turns out in a medium impact it can pull the center gear shaft out of it's mounting in the casing and cause all of it to bind up. Hi Tec replaced the cases cheap enough for me, but itt's something to watch out for.
