Buster 2 Truckable Tug

Buster 2 out of Tampa Fl. Based loosely on the Springer hall and is a truckable tug. Forgot to take pictures till I was about to start weathering. So here is the couple of pictures I took so far.

oh thismis just funny as that is also the same one that I used as a platform on my first Springer many moons a go. Even the same color schemes and name. Nice to see some one else liked that one as well.

The cabin is made of 1/16 fiberglass sheet from McMaster Carr 8549k42 $8.78 for a 12"x 24" sheet. If you use it make sure to lightly sand it to remove the release coating to promote good adhesion. Have been using it for years with very good results. It is similar to circut board material. The sheet is strong, flat, and waterproof. I cut it with a band saw and Dremel tool.

Finally got around to figuring out the deck winches and building them. Installed and function tested today all ok. The motors are from the robot market place link below. I am running the motors on 3v I found the 5v was too fast. If you can fit the slightly larger 224:1 opposed to the 180:1 of these smaller units. At 5v it will dead lift 2lbs with no problem and hold when the power is off. The spools and covers are made from scratch.

Very cool! All towboats need working face wire winches...

Where did you get them?
