Quad X8, Y6, Hexa, Octo? Rusty's Rev-8 Frame decision

I've got Rusty's frame as a quad right now, but have 8 40A ESCs and 15" Carbon arms for a hexa or any other config. Just need motors. I am thinking about ordering 4 more KDA20-22L's or DT700s. I already have 4 of each. I'd also like to play with 4s

Controller will be Arducopter 2 and I may play with Ardupirates code. Goal will be FPV and aerial video, so redundancy is attractive. Flight time would be nice too.

Do I get to vote

It's really hard to beat a quad for overall flight quality, and efficiency. If you can comfortably lift the weight you need to fly with, and don't absolutely need redundancy, then no need to go further than a quad.

If you need redundancy, or have a lot of weight to lift, my preference is X8. The flat octo is actually my least favorite configuration.

If you're somewhere in between the above options, then Y6 would be my choice over the conventional flat hexa.

You can be pretty sure there will be other opinions, since many people love their flat hexas and octos, so that's why the frame can do them all

of course you do rusty. Out of anyone I EXPECT you to! I'm leaning towards X8 if I find myself needing the redency.
