Wow Rich! That's a lot of ingenuity. I had a chance to run one of the newer designed Neu rotors and pinions recently. It was kind of a crazy hot liner set up; small light weight motor spinning very high rpm. 1508.5 1.5D; 4800 kv / 6.7 gear ratio, 15x18 inch prop, on 6S 2700. Now that's asking for trouble and more of a 4s kind of set up normally, but it survived and peaked at 5500 watts using throttle delay and max brake. From this test, I see that the new pinion is very well worth it. I mention this in case you have the older style pinion, in which case you might want to use a soft brake. Can't wait to your see the HV rocket! E

Hey Rich, are you going to support those thin motor wires with something? Just asking cause compared to the 8 AWG wires on the ICE they are a bit on the thin side.

Remember this?

Eric, I have no idea if this is newest pinion or rotor, all I know is that the pinion was just purchased new, and the box came from an 1107 I had laying around. BTW, its not ingenuity, its frugality!

Josef, I will mount the esc on a Popsicle stick, I just need to develop an appetite for grape Popsicle which is all I have in the freezer at the moment.

Going on the latest and greatest f5b to emerge from cz... the speedfire

I wish Steve would still sell the 6.7:1 with pinion for his motors that don't have a gb on his clearance page. I was going to buy a clearance motor but he wouldn't sell me a gb for it... bummer. Looking forward to see where this goes.

That is one beautiful plane.

Is it the pre installed wing servo version?

Yes, it goes together fast... the horns are in very low though, I may bore them out and raise them if the servos demonstrate any play... too early to tell. I just finished shaving the clevises and filing away one wiper...
