Lipo bat: 8,23V
Between the current sensor IN and GND: 8,23V
current_cal= 0.49

This makes no sense? The current sensor delivers a signal in the range 0V-5V. Are you sure you measured the correct output?

You say between current sensor IN and GND?
I put my multimeter in the Voltage IN and GND like the picture attached. Obviously give the same voltage as the battery.

Apparently I understood your instructions wrong. They want to measure between "Signal" and "GND"?

With motor speed at 100% and 3.0A my multimeter reading 0,327 V

To summarize the situation:
At full throttle the multimeter measures a current of 3A and the voltage between the signal and gnd is 0,327 V.

This sounds good... the value 0,327V is the correct value for 3A current. Please set current_cal to 1 and report back what values are shown in the OSD at full throttle.

Flytron Current Sensor Readings


Using a Arduino 328 and taking the voltage out on current sensor to power Arduino with 5 volt regulator.

I'm just using a 3 cell lipo to test osd with no load on the current sensor and I'm getting 49 amps displayed.

I set the current_cal to .49 but having trouble figuring out the offset. I measured 4.3 volts dc on the current sensor signal out. If I take the current sensor signal out of the circuit (pin A2) it displays the battery voltage 12.3v.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I start to write the diyosd for PIC32 microcontroller, use MPIDE which like Arduino but compile for PIC not AVR, PIC32 is 80MHz clock and 32 bit, content DMA, if succes maybe can develope a simple open source autopilot.

The normal hardware version is more or less the same as earlier.
With my cheap china cam I had to use a diode with a little higher forward voltage drop, or increase R3 to get a stable sync.

  • R1 - Controls brightness of the text. Around 100 - 300 ohm recommended.
  • R2 - Control dimming. Feel free to try whatever resistor-value you like.
  • C1 - 0.1 uF is the standard value used to AC-couple video, but other values should work fine. I have even used sround 25 uF capacitor
  • R3 - a part of the climping circuit. Around 10K should do it.
  • R4 - The diode (in this case D5) will always have a voltage drop of 0.6-0.7 V. R4 is just used to limit the current flowing from VCC. Values from a few thousand ohms to 100K should work.
  • R5 pot is used as a simple voltage-divider. The value is not very critical, but I wouldn't recommend very large (1M) and very low (100 ohm).


In this version the fast PWM is used to generate the DC-voltage used for bias and reference voltage.
  • R4 and C2 is used as lowpass-filter.


Simple version - I wouldn't recommend it, but I think it's a cool way to do it
I have been able to get a good sync, but it's a bit easier and more precise with a pot.



- off cource you can change the circuit as you want. You can also use the pot as voltage-divider for the biasing voltage and leave reference voltage at ground etc. Do whatever you prefer.

If any hardware-guys can improve the circuit - go ahead
and wich port to conect gps ..? i have mtk gps with 10hz
