Futaba 8FG or 10CG

I'm switching to Futaba FASST. Looking at the specs it doesn't appear that there is much difference between the two (as far as programming features). Am I overlooking anything when I say that? Which do you use and why?

I have an 8FG and i like it

Reasons why I like the 8FG:
1. It's lighter than the 10CG
2. It's a 14 channel radio
3. I was moving on from a 12FG, so the programming on the 8FG is almost identical
4. Easy backup of model programme on SD card

The only thing I like about the 10CG is the finishing and overall external quality. I would even say, the sticks feel a bit better. But that is just a personal observation.

I love my 8FG Super. It will do anything a DLG needs and much much more. Even on my six servo F3F ship it's impossible to run out of programming with all the flight modes. I'll probably never even use any of the five blank custom mixes available. A really great radio.

No question about it. 8FG before the 10C. The 12FG is a great choice also.

Just curious as a 12FG user... why the move from 12FG to 8FG? The 12FG has superior feel, display and programming...

8FG here. Liked the form factor and layout, and the light weight. I did swap the spring switch to the left though.

Here's the link to the 8FG thread here on RCG. Lots of great info for programing. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1092861

They had to back order mine when I ordered it, I came in in no time. Give them a call.

I agree with you, the 12FG has a better feel. The quality of the finishing is so much better than the 8FG too. I could configure how the sticks feel to exactly how I wanted it but in the end I really liked how the 8FG feels light in my hands, especially when launching. The lighter weight lets me position my thumbs away from elevator sticks (mode 1) when launching. With the 12FG's extra weight i tend to move my thumbs further into the stick wells and sometimes inadvertently give some unwanted stick inputs during the launch.

Regarding display, I like the backlight on the 8fg

Programming: It's almost exactly the same.

Cheers,
Adnan
