The SNIPER is comming

Just recieved an email from a dutchman called Look Bot, he is working on a new jet model for a 480 fan, this must be a real fast one.

And yes , when the model is ready, he is sending me one for testing, can't wait to do some of that speedy low passes WWWOOOOOOO.

You can't see it but I'm drooling all over my keyboard.

Gives my the El Bandito vibe only in the 480 size fan.

Ton,

You'll need a "weapons permit for low flying missiles" for that one

Fly save (if that's possible with that rocket),

He's going to have serious thrust line problems with that setup. Needs to get the fan and tailcone inline. Most people get around this problem on designs that have short, low intakes by moving the fan back. Somewhere around where the fin leading edge hits the fuselage would do.

Nice. Looks like another BVM copy from the side. The triangle cross section may help it look unique.

I agree with devmonkey,
if he will build it exactly like on the drawing it will result in trust line problems.
In the pic you can see how i resolv the Problem.

some days ago on my workbench,
the redline will separate the hull in two halfs, like at Ralf's El Bandito (front and rear) so it will be very easy to mount the Fan.
Because i'm unable to build it light from wood this will only be the
plug.

Thrust line

Kerberos, That jet is looking sharp.

Thanks guys, Look Bot can use some advice to make it go fast, its his first Jet.
But I aswell want to now more, why will he get problemms, is that because of turbulance in the tunnel if the fan is to far forwarth.

Here are some more pics of the SNIPER's wooden mold and its already looking sharp, can't wait to put a fan in there.

If the fan is mounted too far forward, you wont be able to put the battery pack in the nose under the canopy, it'd be nose heavy. You'd have to have the battery split in two pieces and put them on either side of the fan.

The line along the fuse goes from nose to tail, but the actual thrustline from the fan to the exit nozzle could be close to level if the fan was placed behind the trailing edge...there still might be some upthrust there though.
