Yin, you should put up a tutorial video on how to make the system work. Including your data radio system set up and connection.

Maybe get Ali to do it?

Video is always better than volumes of words.

Thanks

I just thought I would start up a wish list of additional feature I would like to add the the FY3ZT.
  1. Pitot static system for measuring airspeed instead of GPS ground speed.
  2. Antenna tracking from the GCS using GPS.
  3. Enclose the FY3ZT and data radio into one enclosure with better quality push/pull canon connectors.
If you guys have some good ideas please list them here for Yin to consider.

Avitus, wow that Petrel is a monster!

Since you guys are selling this stuff, why not help Yin put up a step by step guide / Video on how to set it up and use it?

After months of looking at this system, I still can't understand how it works.

bb email me and I can help maybe.... it should be quite simple we can do it!!

I recommned putting the RC receive onboard the plane (instead of on the ground) and use the data modems to program your flight path etc.

I have mine up and flying. I will post more but I am using all default parameters and the thing flew a very tight box in very high winds the other day.. perfectly!!!!

I have the old 3ZT version (original) so I think we have the same version.

3zt INSTALL

Here ya go

I have old harware so I have to use the old GCS. I think I have it figured out now. The last time I went to the field the plane flew excellent... I put in a very small box for it to follow and it did it... again and again... all default settings for PID.

I am very impressed!!! seriously man I am comparing this to some very good other autopilots.... as a matter of fact NONE of the othere ones were able to do this box and I have been tweaking them for ages.

Hi Steve,

The FY3ZT is a very capable auto pilot and is really impressive just as you said.
Please correct me if Im wrong but you can use the new GCS with the older hardware, the communications protocol hasn't changed.
Please download it and give it a try.
We have all versions of the hardware but preffer to use Ver 2.2 GCS because of the map maker software due to the fact we rarely operate in locations that have internet connection.
The new GCS uses google earth.

HI Blunderbum... I have tried multiple time and multiple things... many trips to the field later I have decided that the old hardware (mine is original suff) does not work with the new GCS that has the google earth built in...

Steve
ps have you gotten it to work?
