I can't understand why the 3dhs recommends hacker 55, airboss 45 or ice lite 75. Motor stats say run 35amps continuous with 48amp burst? Why couldn't I just get a 50 amp cc esc?

It just depends on the ESC. Some can handle higher bursts and some can't. I always tend to go higher than necessary. If your going 14x7 then I think a 60a ESC is a good idea.

I've never tried anything other than that. I've been meaning to try a 13x6.5 to see how it compares.

Ok trusting you guys, getting cc ice lite 75...14x7, where do you guys get the wood props? What's better about that vs. APc?

Xoar props are great, but you will have a really hard time putting a 1.5" spinner on with a wood prop. The APC really is the easiest to use...

For what it's worth, I've had an Eflite 45 A ESC on 3 Edges, and now a foamy Yak, and its outlived all of them.

Have used many different props on the Edge. Xoar 14x7 is the best, followed closely by the APC 14x7E. Drawbacks of using the Xoar are it is twice the price, very fragile, difficult to get in a spinner, limited availability (I have 3 places local with APCs) and has a higher amp draw. APC 13x6.5 is better than no prop at all at least on my setup. APC 13x8 is decent too if you just want to do aerobatics.

Landing!!
The best compromise on mine is the Xoar 14x6. (Omega 130, Hacker 55).
Used APC 13x6,5 for a while, wanted more power and tested APC 14x7 but it felt too slow to spin up. (Yeah, I'm a 3D-rookie, and need the power quite quickly when falling out of a hover...)
Tried Xoar 14x6 and for me it is THE propeller. Quick to spool up and good thrust. Made my edge very enjoyable. =) (Or more enjoyable if you wish.)
