thry to make sure you have no bent shaft and that the bell didnt get bent during the hard landing (s) also there are bearings you need to make sure are not hurt.Look hard at this and make sure there are no marks on the stator and the magnets in the end bell (this would indicate bent shaft or flexing/etc) then a little lube on the bearings,clean out all the dirt and sand if you find anything.. and rock on bro

I have another oft asked, loaded question, which hopefully doesn't derail things.

I am looking at a budget charger I can take to the flying field with me, hopefully one with a built in power supply. I guess a 50W charger would work, but I would love to have a "portable" charger that could charge up to 6 cells comfortably. Does a good one exist for a good price? Sub $200?

I have a hitec x4 multicharger but I don't want to lug it and it's separate power supply to the field.

Killed the Omega showing off for some people today. First flight was perfect, the motor was warm but not hotter than I've flown it before. Second flight I climbed up and did about a 6 or 7 second KE spin which went fine but after pulling into hover right after it didn't have the power it normally does and it was making noises. Gave more power to keep my harrier and that's when the smoke came! Quite a bit actually. Luckily I was about 15 feet off the ground and was able to get it down without tearing anything else up.

Think I'm gonna go the Motrofly route. Most people use the 2815? I want to be able to use 14x7 which on the website it doesn't list that as the prop for that motor. I might just go with the 2820-950 on 14x7 3s so everything will come down nice and cool. I want to be able to fly back to back packs without the needing the motor to cool off.

Most people say they like the 2815-950 with a 13x6.5 prop. Don't let a prop change your mind and get the wrong motor, I think the 2820 would be heavy too. If I were you I would get the 2815-950 and use a 13x6.5, if you wanted to use a 14x7 I think you would have to go down to 900kv but then 900kv would have to be custom wined, also if you get a custom wined the motor is more efficient there for not heating up as much. I am getting a custom wound 2815-1000kv for my 47" shp and I am going to be using a 13x6.5 prop.

Do not get the 2815-850 and use a 14x7, it is just not enough power.

I agree with scarface on the 3dhs edge as the plane is pretty light. the 2815 will huck the plane rather well.13x6.5 is a good prop. If you decide to go 2820,let us know how it balances. Motrolfly motors run pretty cool for the power they put out.

2815-950 on a 13x6.5 should net smiles. 14x7 would really depend on esc and possibly altitude. Shoot Ken an email with your thoughts and he should recommend a good setup. 2815-900 custom wound on a 14x7 might just the the ticket. Ask Ken what he thinks.

I've got a Duratrax Onyx 235, and it does 6S no problem. I have a paraboard and charge 4 3s packs at a time. It will only do 8 amps though.

I have run a 14x7 on my 2815-950 as well. Just saying the amps should be watched.

I run the motrolfly 2815 1100 on my 47" shp with a 13x6.5 prop, I know this is technically over propped, but if know how to manage the throttle, it comes down with acceptable temps, if you rip the throttle a lot, you should go with the 950 wind, I was impressed with this motor, put my 103 gram omega and hacker a30-16m to shame.

Alex, I was getting more travel with my rudder and elevator, I had to decrease travel on the rudder due to it smacking the elevator. Tumbles and loops were tighter. Going to have to get something for the ailerons soon. They have a bit of slop in them even after tightening up all the linkage when I changed wings. Not as much as the elevator servo did. Maybe just worn gears.

I run the MF 2820-950 on a 12x6 apc and 4s with the 70a MF esc (it was what I had during setup). You will never need more power than that. Used to run the 3s setup and I really didnt notice a whole lot of "floatiness" lost when I switched to the 4s. Its a rocket now and performs VERY violent spins and such. Lovin it!!!!
