Has anyone done a thrust test with apc/Vox/xoar 13x6.5 and 14x7 with an omega 130? Am curious what kind of numbers people are getting. TIA

Well the maiden is out of the way.

Turns out though my rudder was reversed which made the flight quite horrible. The plane was also nose heavy.

The landing was quite hard and I bent a strut which punctured the fuse a bit.

Second flight after adjusting cog and some elevator trim the plane is flying better. Had a decent landing.

Next flight coming up.

Well the plane is cool hehe. Had my 3rd flight and heading home right now.

Learnt some lessons but will get there!

I have noticed something with my motor that I am not quite sure I have heard before.

Every revolution (I tested by spinning by hand too) it seems there is a slight grinding type noise. I really hope this is normal.

The motor is not rubbing against the cowl, so I am sure there is no binding of the motor.

On the bad landing on my maiden flight, I noticed the tips of the blades had hit the runway, I am hoping that that blade strike has not damaged the motor. I had cut the throttle a bunch I am sure.

Thoughts? Is this normal? Something to be concerned about?

It could be normal, but I don't know. I don't have the Omega motor. I would say try blowing it out with compressed air and see if anything changes.

My Omega has survived many hard blade strikes and 3 crashes just fine. No grinding but it is still very tight even after over 200 flight in 3 Edges.

Well my Savox servos arrived today. I was beginning to doubt they would and was pleasently surprised when they did. Very nicely packaged in reusable clear plastic boxes. A plus for a parts hoarder like me. Intial impression a nice well made product. Servo leads are 2 or 3 inches longer than Hitech HS-65MG. They might be long enough to eliminate the extensions on the wings. I'll have to try that later on because these are going on the rudder and the elevator. If I end up liking these I'll order 2 more for the ailerons. The center section of the cases is a nice anodized aluminium, but the top and bottom are plastic. Top to bottom the case is slightly longer than the Hitech and it is just a hair wider. I had to shave a tiny amount of material with my xacto knife from the rudder hole for a snug fit. The splines on the output shaft are different from the Hitech so the servo arms are not interchangeable. When I went attach the 3DHS Long Servo arms to the Savox servo arms I ran into a slight snag. The holes don't match up perfectly, and required me to slot the holes slightly with a drill bit. While working on the rudder I was able to get it mechanicly centered perfectly for the first time. Before I have always had to use a fews click of rudder trim on the transmitter. Seems to have much more torque and centers consistantly. Hope to do a flight test or 5 in the morning. If that goes well I will put the other Savox on the Elevator.

Agreed, I was like, something is wrong, it just did not feel right (obviously). Glad I did not lose the plane.

The CoG is good right now, now I need to learn how to land properly. I am gonna have to fix my landing gear and the dent/hole punched into the fuse.
